Puri, Aug 5: Bail plea of the nine arrested servitors in manhandling case during Niladri Bije rituals of lord Jagannath and his siblings on July 17, has been postponed to August 6 by the Additional District Sessions court of Puri.
As per the information, the hearing of bail plea was scheduled for August 2, but after Singhadwar Police asked for more time for submission of case dairy in this connection, the hearing date has changed to August 4.
Based on the manhandling with media persons and Puri collector, Arvind Agarwal, twelve servitors have been arrested.
Three servitors amongst the six servitors arrested for misbehaving with district collector, have applied for anticipatory bail.
Further, non-bailable warrants have been issued against the servitors Damodar Mahasuar, Jayakrushna Mahassuar, Saina Khuntia, Bhimshen Palankdhari, Ipsit Pratihari, and Rabi Dash, suspended servitors Kashinath Khuntia and Bhagirathi Khuntia who are untraceable yet.
