Bhubaneswar, Aug 5: On Friday, BJP declared of releasing a white paper on Mahanadi water status in the state thus highlighting the dispute on Mahanadi between Odisha and Chhattigarh.
This was called out by Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at a press meet here. He pointed out the fact that the Central Government has a full awareness of the issue and it would solve the issue on a serious note as the State government is just politicizing the issue although it has got all the figures on the river through which it should have come up with the figures by now. At the Joint Control Board meeting which was held between the two states to solve the matter, Pradhan said that the matter would be sorted with mutual consent.
Throwing an attack on Naveen Patnaik, Pradhan accused the CM of failing to proactively fight for the rights of Odisha. In the meantime, RS MP, Prasanna Acharya said that Chhattisgarh must put a stop to all the ongoing river projects and at first sit for a discussion.
