Bus fares cut down; fourth reduction in this year

Bhubaneswar, Aug 17: Under the automatic fare adjustment mechanism, the State government has lowered the fares for all categories of passenger buses for the fourth time in this year. As per the information given by the Commerce and Transportation department, Ordinary and Express buses fares have been reduced  by 1 paisa per Kilometre and Deluxe and AC Deluxe buses fares has been cut down by 2 paisa per kilometre.

After this decrease, fares for Ordinary busses would be 58 paisa per Km and fares of Express busses would be charged at 61 paisa per Km. Likewise, Deluxe buses fare would be 80 paisa per Km, and AC Deluxe buses would charge Rs 1.01.

Notably, the State government had earlier reduced bus fares on January 21, July 1 and August 1 this year.
