Nayagarh, Aug 19: The Crime Branch (CB) of Odisha Police on Friday arrested four persons involved in the murder of four members of a family at Chandpur in Nayagarh district two years ago. The four arrested were hardcore dacoits of Ganjam and Jajpur districts. It is suspected that the miscreants had attempted to rob at Kashinath’s house and later killed four. While five persons were involved in the murder, one of them has died, CB sources said.
Notably, one Kasinath Patra, his daughter-in-law and two grandchildren of Shastri Nagar at Chandpur in the district had been killed by five miscreants on September 6, 2014. The murder had created much of outrage among the public. With the help of Nayagarh police, the CB arrested the four, who are likely to be produced before the Ranpur Court today, the sources said.
