Balasore, Aug 23: Two persons, named Naba Kishore Rout and Saroj Giri, have been arrested through a joint operation by the Odisha and Kolkata Police. Police recovered Rs 1.1 Crore which they had looted from the house of a businessman of Kolkata, Santosh Kumar Poddar. The two were working at Poddar’s jewellery shop at Bara Bazar in Kolkata.
They were nabbed by the police from Raipitambara village near Soro in Balasore district. Naba Kishore Rout has been identified as a resident of Raipitambara village while Saroj of Baringia in the district.
The police are carrying out further investigation into the matter.
