Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: Accused in the mega chit fund scam by Artha Tatwa (AT) Group, Ranjan Das, on Tuesday was granted with 15 days interim bail by the High Court on medical grounds to undergo treatment for fibrosis complications at the Cuttack Based Regional Cancer Centre.

Earlier, the Court had instructed a team of experts to probe into his health condition. Ranjan had filed for a bail plea to undergo treatment for pre cancerous stage illness. However, the investigation had revealed that he did not suffer from pre cancerous stage but had a fibrosis complication. Thus, the Court had rejected the bail plea at that time.

Notably, Ranjan Das, co-founder of AT Group along with a former director of AT Group, Jagabandhu Panda, had floated Swastik India by allegedly circulating the depositor’s money from the AT Group.

Ranjan was arrested by the CBI in September 2014.
