Paralekhmundi, Aug 25: The police booked the Paralakhemundi MLA, K Surya Rao and former Gajapati district chief, Basant Das on Wednesday, based on the complaint filed by Amulya Patra, the elder brother of the deceased Ananga Manjari Patra, manager of the palace who along with her two brothers and a sister was found dead under mysterious circumstances. Reportedly, Amulya had filed an FIR against some political leaders, including K Surya Rao and Basant Das, on charges of abetment to suicide of the Parala Palace staffers and their siblings.
The Police of Paralakhemundi police station had registered a case against the accused persons on Monday based on the FIR filed by Amulya.
Notably, a case under sections 306 (abetment to suicide) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) against the accused have been registered.
