Bargarh, Oct 11: Alleging that doctor’s negligence led to the death of a woman named Subhrarekha Sahoo of Birimal village who died after delivering a baby at the Bargarh district headquarters hospital (DHH), villagers of Birimal and locals blocked road in front of the DHH on Tuesday.
By keeping the body of the deceased on the road, they demanded compensation for the kin of deceased.
As per the information, the woman was hospitalized on Monday evening and later gave birth to a baby boy at the hospital. However, today morning she died suddenly. The family members alleged that the reason behind her death is doctors’ carelessness. Subhrarekha’s husband further alleged that the doctors had taken bribe from him for the delivery of the baby.
The road blockade was withdrawn later after the Additional District medical Officer (ADMO) assured an investigation in the matter and also said that a post mortem will be conducted in the presence of a magistrate.
