Brahmagiri, Oct 15: As an ambulance driver refused to carry the body of a boy named Rudra Nayak of Tubuka village under Krushnachandrapur block of Puri district on Friday night, irate over the incident, locals staged a road blockade today at Chari Chaka in the district.
As per reports, Rudra died last night in the ambulance while he was on his way to Chhatrapur hospital in an ambulance after his condition became critical.
The ambulance driver refused to take the body back to the village even after the father of the deceased requested him and left the spot leaving them midway.
Left with no choice, covering a distance of 20-25 km, Rudra’s father carried the body back to his house in the village. Protesting the incident, irate villagers blocked the road at Chari Chaka today.
