December 4 set as new deadline for submission of affidavits on Sri Jagannath Temple reforms

Puri, Nov 1: A decision to extend the deadline from November 4 to December 4 for submission of affidavits mentioning the opinion, suggestions of general public regarding reforms in Sri Jagannath Temple, was informed to the media persons on Monday by Justice BP Das, heading the Judicial Commission set up by the State Government to recommend reforms in the Temple.

Das also directed the Puri Collector to provide details related to encroachment in temple land and ritual debacle. The Collector has also been directed to provide data related to the steps taken for smooth darshan of the Lords by the devotees.

As per sources, the superintendent of police has also been asked to give information related to the criminal activities in the town.

Individuals, institutions can drop their suggestions through affidavits in drop boxes that have been put up by the Commission at all Collector’s and Sub-Collector’s office across Odisha.
