Maoists’ Violence on the top; slit throat of former Sarpanch in Kalahandi, Odisha on Tuesday

Bhawanipatna, Nov 3: Maoist violence has reared its ugly head once again in Kalahandi after the red rebels killed a former Sarpanch named Jayant Majhi by slitting his throat on Tuesday night. It’s stated that Jayant had been brutally killed near Sapachanchala area under Bijepur Police limits. Jayant was the former Sarpanch of Trilochanpur Panchayat. Also, the naxals’ have called for a five-state bandh today to protest the encounter on Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border last month.

The five states are Andhra, Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra to protest the `fake’ police encounter last month in Malkangiri which took lives of over two dozen rebels. However, the police have also intensified their combing operations in the Maoists specific areas.
