Majhi submits memorandum to Odisha Governor; ends hunger strike

Bhubaneswar, Dec 26; Today, after submitting a memorandum to Governor SC Jamir, Pradip Majhi, Former MP and Vice-President of Congress Odisha unit has withdrawn his hunger strike. Along with Majhi, five other Congress activists also ended their hunger strike.

Demanding Rs 12 lakh as compensation for those family whose children died in Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and appointment of doctors in 55 vacant post as soon as possible, Majhi and five others had staged a hunger strike in front of Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. Also, this Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) vice president, was on a dharna since last five days.
