Bhubaneswar, Jan 5: As the advertising displayed in various Medias has violated the model code of conduct enforced by the State Election Commission, the Commission yesterday directed both the Centre and the State Government to stop the same ahead of the Panchayat elections.
A letter to Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution has been issued by the SEC to stop all the advertisements immediately.
Apart from this, all district collectors have been instructed to remove hoardings containing government’s welfare schemes in the state.
The SEC has issued two e-mail addresses on which one may file a complaint about the violation of model code of conduct. The e-mail addresses are sec.odisha@gov.in and stateelectioncommission.odisha@gmail.com.
