Bhubaneswar, Jan 13: In connection with the chit-fund scam case, after simultaneous raids were conducted by the CBI at 36 places across Odisha , a meeting was conducted between the central probe agency’s SP Rajeev Ranjan and Director General of Police (DGP) KB Singh at the camp office here that has aroused innumerable questions on the topc discussed during the discussion. However, after the meeting, DGP and the CBI SP told the media that nothing had been discussed and the meet was just a courtesy visit to the DGP post New Year.
On asking about the protest held by the activists of student and youth wings of BJD in front of the CBI office in Bhubaneswar yesterday, Ranjan replied saying that there had been no problem of law and order at the protest area and the demonstration was just a type of protest and it has got to do nothing with the agency. Lastly, the CBI SP stated that there is no pressure on them and the CBI is an independent agency.
