Bhubaneswar, Jan 19: The Ravenshaw College, the first and the oldest college of Odisha, will be celebrating its 150th Foundation Day on Jan 20. The celebration would be held for three days. Prof Prakash Chandra Sarangi, vice chancellor of Ravenshaw University informed the media that the pristine institution has planned a yearlong activity to celebrate the 150th Foundation Day.
Giving the detailed schedule of the event, he said that, on the first day Chancellor of University and Governor, SC Jamir would inaugurate the celebration in which Odisha CM, Naveen Patnaik would be the chief guest. Apart from this, Higher Education minister, Pradip Panigrahi and School and Mass Education minister, Debi Prasad Mishra would also grace the event as the guests of honour. The Ravenshaw students will be presenting various cultural programmes. The alumni is also invited to participate in the event of their alma mater. On the second day of the event, an international seminar with a topic ‘Ravenshaw: Past, present and future’ will be held where the past of the Ravenshaw College will be recalled and think of its future will be discussed.
