Bhubaneswar: Feb 22: Two- phase Budget Session of Odisha Assembly begins from today. BJP and Congress have different agenda to corner the government, but the major issue on which both the Party may attack on ruling party, is gross irregularities by ruling BJD in the Panchayat Polls which concluded yesterday. Today, Governor of Odisha SC Jamir addressed the session and discussion on budget to be held on February 23 and 25 as per the notification. On Feb 27, Finance minister Pradip Amat shall present the budget for the financial year 2017-18. The first phase of session will continue upto 4th March and second phase will begin from March 14 and continue till April 7.
A three-tier security cover has been put on place in and around Odisha Assembly as informed by Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania. At least 31 police platoons have been deployed to provide security cover during the ensuing legislative session.Quick Reaction Team (QAT), Roof Top Security have also been arranged to keep strict vigil on any untoward happenings. Bhubaneswar DCP is in-charge of the security while 5 Assistant SP and 100 other officials have also been engaged.
