SCB Medical College and Hospital reviewed by team of MCI for the fourth time in Cuttack, Odisha; last in Aug 2016

Bhubaneswar/ Cuttack, Mar 7: Today the infrastructure and other facilities of the SCB Medical College and Hospital here was reviewed by a four-member team of the Medical Council of India (MCI). A senior official informed this to the media. He said that this was this year the team mainly verified the compliance report that had been earlier submitted by the SCB authorities after MCI had pointed out some deficiencies during their last inspection held in 2016. It said that shortage of lectures theatre, examination hall, hostels and lack of adequate casualty medical officers in accordance to the increase in MBBS seats from 150 to 250 five years back. All this was informed by the SCB Administrative Officer, Partap Mishra. Last year The MCI team had conducted discussions with senior officials of the hospital and had also verified the faculty position, equipment as well as other facilities here. As per official sources, after the MCI pointed out the deficiencies in Aug 2016, SCB Medical complied with the majority of it such has the work for the construction of a four storied new academic block with six class rooms, two lecture theatres, two auditoriums and a library in 4,500 sqft of land has been completed.
