Diarrhoea grips Keonjhar and Kalahandi districts; 40 affected in total

Keonjhar/Bhawanipatna, May 2: Diarrhoea has gripped both Keonjhar and Kalahandi districts. Around 30 persons have been affected in Keonjhar and 10 have been affected in Kalahandi.

In Keonjhar, the affected 30 persons fell sick due to an infection upon the consumption of contaminated river water. It has been alleged by the locals that due to not properly treating the piped drinking water coming from nearby Kusei river, the infection has spread. All patients have been hospitalized at the Anandpur hospital.

In Kalahandi, people have been affected in Kuturimali village of Thuamul Rampur area. 10 people by yet have reported of having loose motion and vomiting. Health officials have arrived at the area to take care of the siuataion.
