RSP holds health, hygiene awareness programme for girls

Rourkela, Nov 28: Rourkela Steel Plant organised a health and hygiene awareness programme for the girl students of Deepika Ispat Sikhya Sadan, the free school of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) recently.

The programme was organized in association with Deepika Mahila Sanghati.

The awareness programme was conducted for girl students and their mothers.

Dr Usha Nayak discussed Adolescent Health with special focus on Menstrual Health and Hygiene.

This was followed by an interaction programme, where various health problems faced by the girls and parents were discussed.

Samples of the low-cost sanitary napkins being produced at Jagruti Sanitary Napkin production centre of Rourkela Steel Plant were also distributed amongst the girls to promote safe health practices and create awareness.

At present about 480 students are studying in the school in class-1 to 10. Out of them more than 60% are girls.
