International day of persons with disabilities celebrated

Bhubaneswar, Dec 04:  Ministry of social justice and empowerment department of disability affairs of Odisha celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Dec 3.

Disability Welfare Secretary Saswat Mishra   started an awareness rally of PWDs from Lower PMG to Adivasi Ground. Awareness booths opened at different locations in city to disseminate information and knowledge inputs related to disability.

Later Minati Behera, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities inaugurated an exhibition at Adivasi Exhibition Ground with a broad view to educate and trained the PWDs to think, create, produce and deliver.

In the evening Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik graced the occasion and awarded eight noted person who worked for the welfare of the disabled persons.

Cultural programme presented by children with disabilities of different special schools and institutions.
