Bhubaneswar: August 22: India reported 69,878 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours, pushing India’s total to 29,75,701.
According to the Health Ministry, 945 people succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours and death toll increased to 55,794.
Also, as reported, 63,631 people recovered from the disease in last 24 hours and the total number of persons recovered so far rose to 22,22,577. With this data, the recovery rate improved further to 74.69 per cent.
The total active cases from across the country stands at 6,97,330. As informed, 10,23,836 were tested on Friday and till date, 3,44,91,073 cumulative total samples have been tested.
Among States, Maharashtra recorded 6, 57, 450 Coronavirus cases and 21,698 deaths so far, followed by Tamilnadu wth 3,67,430 cases & 6,340 deaths, Andhra Pardesh with 3,34,940 cases & 3092 deaths, Karnataka with 2,64,564 cases & 4,522 deaths, Uttar Pradesh with 1,77,239 cases & 2,797 deaths, Delhi with 1,58,604 cases & 4,270 deaths, West Bengal with 1,32,364 cases & 2,689 deaths and Bihar with 1,17,413 cases & 498 deaths.
