India Reports 175 New Cases Of Omicron Variant; Total Tally Rises To 1700

Bhubaneswar: May 05: Odisha reported 9889 new COVID Positive Cases in last 24 hours. Of this, 5611 people were in quarantine and rest 4278 cases are from local contacts.

Khurda District registered 1331 new cases, followed by Sundergarh 1137 cases, Cuttack 790 cases, Bargarh 483 cases, Sambalpur 470 cases, Angul 443 cases, Puri 436 cases, Kalahandi & Nawarangpur 414 cases each, Jharsuguda 386 cases, Nuapada 335 cases, Balangir 326 cases, Ganjam 310 cases, Jajpur 282 cases, Mayurbhanj 243 cases, Nayagarh 223 cases, Keonjhar 195 cases, Sonepur 158 cases, Jagatsinghpur 156 cases, Balasore 151 cases, Kendrapara 133 cases, Boudh & Rayagada 129 cases each, Gajapati 117 cases, Koraput 94 cases, Dhenkanal 90 cases, Malkangiri 86 cases, Deogarh 75 cases, Kandhamal & Bhadrak 52 cases each and 249 cases found from State Pool.

Also, 6164 persons have recovered from the disease in last 24 hours.

With 9889 new cases, total cases in Odisha increased to 4,89,641 and out of that, 4,10,227 patients have recovered from the infection.

At present, 77257 active cases are there in State.
