Puri: August 27: The newly formed management committee of the  Srimandir  met on Thursday at Niladri Bhakta Niwas, Puri. As decided in the meeting, an ideal Gurukul society will be formed under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb. It will work under the management committee of the shrine.

Gurukul will be set up on a 17-acre plot and the Odisha government will bear all the expenses for its establishment, said Dr Krishan Kumar, Chief Administrator.

The financially week Sevayats, will be provided with 600 square feet of land and two lakh rupees for construction of houses.

Priority will be given to the sebayats who are involved in the daily rituals of Temple.

Applications will be sought from the servitors for the same and later they will be allotted the plots. In the first phases, 400 servitors are likely to get houses, he informed.

Some sub-committees and additional sub-committees have been set up  to run the temple.

The Shree Mandir administration will sign a five-year contract with ASI for the maintenance and repair of the shrine. If more money is needed for maintenance, the temple administration and the state government will provide it.

The meeting was attended by Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Chief Secretary and Executive Chairman of Shree Mandir Management Committee; Dr Krishan Kumar, Chief Administrator; Samarth Burma, District Collector & Deputy Chairman of Shree Mandir Management Committee; SP Kanwar Vishal Singh and members of the newly formed Shree Mandir Management Committee.
