Kartarpur Sahib Corridor Reopens Today
The Kartarpur Sahib Corridor in Gurdaspur, which was closed for a long time due to Corona, has been reopened for devotees today. Before the Guru Parv, Centre has reopened Kartarpur Sahib Corridor. It’s a gift to the devotees of the Sikh community.
Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday announced the reopening of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor from Wednesday, which was closed due to the Corona epidemic.
Shah said through a tweet,, the Modi government has decided to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor from November 17. This will benefit a large number of Sikh devotees. This decision shows the immense reverence of the Modi government towards Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the Sikh community.
In another tweet, Shah said, the country is ready to celebrate the festival of lights of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 19th November. I am sure that this decision of the Modi government will increase the joy across the country.
Earlier the BJP leaders of Punjab had met the PM on Sunday, demanding the reopening of the corridor. Punjab Congress, Akali Dal had also made a request to the PM for the reopening of Kartarpur Sahib Corridor.
The Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi also wrote a letter to the PM and the Home Minister regarding this. After, Centre announced for the reopening of Corridor, Channi welcomes the decision and Thanks a lot for it.
Apart from Channi, Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, former CM Captain Amarinder Singh, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal also appreciated and welcomed the Centre’s decision. On Tuesday morning, Captain Amarinder Singh had demanded PM Narendra Modi to open this corridor. Sidhu has described it as an invaluable gift to the Sikh community.
The corridor was closed since March 2020 due to the Corona epidemic. On Friday, for the festival of lights of Guru Nanak Dev ji, devotees will be able to go for darshan following the corona rules. 250 pilgrims will go in the first batch and vaccination and negative RT PCR report is necessary for devotees to visit.
