Farmers End Their Over Year-long Agitation

The farmers’ agitation, which has been going on for more than a year on the borders with Delhi in protest against the three central agricultural reform laws, came to an end on Thursday.

The farmers organizations have ended their over year-long agitation after the Centre on Thursday handed over a revised proposal as demanded.

Following the revocation of the law, the Centre had come up with a proposal which was accepted by the farmers. Based on their demand, the Centre has come out with the same in writing.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha announced the suspension of the farmers’ movement after an important meeting on the Singhu border of Delhi-Haryana. Along with this, it has also been said that, on January 15, the SKM will hold a review meeting, if the central government does not agree to the things, then the movement will start again. Rakesh Tikait, the spokes person of the Bharatiya Kisan Union has given a hint on this.

The leaders of SKM informed in the press conference after the meeting that, the farmers will return in a phased manner from December 11. They will go in the form of a procession till Shambhu border (Kundli border) of Delhi-Haryana. In between, there may be a halt at Karnal.
