Bhubaneswar: May 10: Professor Kishore K. Basa, Chairman of the National Monuments Authority (NMA), has been given the additional charge of Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for a period of six months.
According to a notification issued today by the Ministry of Culture, Basa will hold the additional charge until further orders or the appointment of a regular Director General of ASI, whichever comes first.
Basa is a former Vice Chancellor of Odisha’s Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanjadeo University in Baripada. According to sources, he was also the chairman of the Indian National Confederation and the Academy of Anthropologists.
