Puri: Gajapati Maharaj Divyasingha Deb on Thursday inspected the Parikrama project of Srimandira, the famous Lord Jagannath temple in Puri of Odisha along with others. After the inspection, he said that plans are being made to make an ‘Annakshetra’ outside the North Gate.
Puri Gajapati Maharaj explained that due to the increasing number of devotees to the temple, the facilities for ‘Prasad Sevana’ (consuming of the offerings) at the Ananda Bazaar is becoming more difficulat. Now, more space required to allow the devotees to sit and consume the Mahaprasad.
Keeping this in view, there is a plan to make ‘Annakshetra’ at a prominent place outside the North Gate where devotees can conveniently take Mahaprasad without any hassle.
He further cleared that as usual the Mahaprasad will be sold at Ananda Bazaar but there will be a spacious place and good arrangements for Mahaprasad Sevana at the North Gate (Uttara Dwara) of the temple.
We will discuss with the government and request to take further steps in the regard – Gajapati Maharaj added.
On Thursday Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Dev also visited the Pramod Udyana (Entertainment Garden) of Mahaprabhu. The Gajapati Maharaj was accompanied by the Chief Administrator of the temple, Arvind Padhi, the District Collector, SP and other officials.
