Bhubaneswar: February 22: Biban alias Bibekanand Biswal, the main accused in the much-hyped Anjana Mishra gang rape case, was finally arrested. He was absconding since last 22 years’ around. Commissionerate of Police has arrested Biban in Pune, informed Police Commissioner Sudhansu Sarangi.
The most discussed gang rape case was happened on 9th January’1999 inside a car on the Bhubaneswar-Barang road. There was widespread outrage in the state. The then Chief Minister, Janaki Ballabh Patnaik had to resign due to the public outrage.
Police Commissioner said that Baban had hidden in Amby Vally in Pune by changing his name to Jalandhar Swain and was working there as Plumber.
