Alleged of involvement in poll violence; two minor boys jailed by cops in Keonjhar, Odisha

Keonjhar, Mar 20: On Sunday in connection to the two minor boys, who had just appeared their matriculation examinations, being jailed, the family members of the two minors approached the Keonjhar District Collector alleging that the police have jailed their sons. It’s said that the boys have been jailed on Mar 15 along with some persons involved in a poll violence incident. The boys are Akshya Munda and Mohan Parihal belonging to the Suakati village.

Notably, alleging partiality on the part of the police during the Nayab Sarpanch elections in Suakati, a group had ransacked the police outpost there and thrashed the police personnel present in it. Later police arrested few persons of the village and had sent them to jail. The family of the minors said that their children are not involved in the incident, but police arrested them when they were going by bus to Keonjhar. Keonjhar Sadar SDPO informed that he has not received any such complaint from the families of the minors.
