Another Maoist cadre surrenders himself to cops in Malkangiri, Odisha

Malkangiri, Nov 26: Today one more cadre surrendered himself to the police here. It’s stated that Ram Madkami, a Maoist cadre reached the district headquarters here and surrenderd himself before SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra. He also surrendered to him a 9 mm pistol and 13 bullets.

The SP informed the media that Madkami was working at the Malkangiri-Visakhapatnam-Koraput Border Division of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit from the year 2010 to 2016 and was carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. Apart from this, he also had an involvement in the Padia Block explosion, in the encounter in Silakota and had also killed six persons suspecting them to be police informers.

Several cases are also pending against him. He further pointed out that the ultras are slowly losing their stand here as around 500 maoists sympathizers have surrendered themselves at the police station in the last 14 days.
