Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: The highest literary award of the state, prestigious Atibadi Jagannath Das Award has been honored to famous writer Dr Bibhuti Patnaik on Wednesday.
The award for 2016 was felicitated to Patnaik by Ashok Panda, States Tourism and Culture minister.
More than 150 books have been written by Patnaik. Among that some famous novels are ‘Achinha Akash’, ‘Aei Mana ekanta Adima’, ‘Badhu Nirupama’, ‘Dina Jae Chinha Rahe’, ‘Panchama Upanyasa.
Before this award, he was also awarded in 2015 with the Central Sahitya Akademi award, in 2007 with Sahitya Bharati award, in 1999 he received the Sarala Award and in 1985 he got the Odisha Sahitya Akademi award.
Apart from this, 10 and 15 literatures for the year 2015 and 2016 respectively were also felicitated in this award ceremony.
President of Odisha, Sahitya Akademi Harihara Mishra and Tourism and Culture department secretary, Manoranjan Panigrahi also were present in the special programme.
