Bhanjanagar, Oct 14: After an attack by fellow prisoners inside Aska Sub Jail in Ganjam district on Thursday, an under trial prisoner (UTP), identified as Mahendra Jena sustained critical injuries.
As per reports, during a scuffle among themselves inside the jail, the fellow prisoners identified as Bulu Nahak and Kartik Nahak attacked Mahendra, who is an accused in a murder case following which he sustained deep wound on his head.
The jail authorities later admitted him to the nearby government hospital. After his condition stabilized, he was brought back in the jail.
In this connection, a case has been registered at the Aska police station.
