Bhubaneswar, Feb 27: AYUSH doctors have decided to sport black badges from March 14 in protest against the gross apathy of the State government towards their demand for a hike in salary and regularisation of services.

Ayush Doctors’ Association General Secretary Dr Sanjay Kumar Mohapatra said on Friday that the doctors appointed on contract for the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and working in remote villages under hazardous conditions are paid a very low salary.

“While allopathic doctors  are getting special incentive for working in KBK district areas but we are being deprived of the same despite working in the same areas”, he added.

Dr Mohapatra urged the State government to consider our grievances at the earliest and stop the disparity. The aggrieved doctors too demanded that the government reconstitute the cadre as the same was already done in other states.
