Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: Today Congress leader Bapi Sarkhel’s wife, Minideepa Sarkhel launched a scathing attack on BJD minister and Paradip MLA Damodar Rout by alleging that it was his political conspiracy to send his husband to jail.
Minideepa met Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president, Prasad Harichandan at Congress Bhavan here and told him that Bapi Sarkhel has been falsely framed in this case with political motive. Speaking to media persons after meeting the PCC Chief, she also said she would against the injustice done to her husband. On behalf of him, Minideepa would be fighting at the upcoming Panchayat Polls having the support of Paradip-Erasama Industrial Development Council and local people. In his reaction, Rout gave a very cold expression.
Notably, police had arrested Sarkhel on November 18 in connection with the Paradip murder case and produced him before the Kujang JMFC (Judicial Magistrate First Class), where his bail plea was rejected and thus he was sent to Samagola Jail of Kujanga and later shifted to Ali Pingala sub-jail in Jagatsinghpur district on security grounds.
