Bargarh, May 8: Yesterday the General Secretary of Havildar-Constable Sangha here, Subash Chandra Mishra, was held for allegedly misbehaving with a woman. The victim lodged a complaint regarding the matter at Paikmal police station following which the arrest took place. As per the complaint and cops, the woman of Khaprakhol of Bolangir had visited Baisakhi Mela at Nrusinghanath Peeth where she was misbehaved by a biker. The biker was later identified as a police constable.

However, Mishra alleged that the Bolangir SP Ashish Singh, who is in additional charge here has conspired against him. He elaborated that the SP Ashish Singh had been torturing him since he assumed charge here. As per a standing order, the mela duty should not have been allotted to the Bargarh police but the Bargarh president, secretary, vice-president and other two members were sent to Baisakhi Mela for a week. Mishra had even written about this to the SP, but it was rejected.
On the other hand, inspector-in-charge of Paikmal police station has stated that the victim has mentioned the vehicle number in her FIR based on which a person identified as Subash Mishra has been arrested. Once the investigation is over, further action will be taken.
