Bhubaneswar, Nov 15: In view of the existing legal tender situation, the state government today disbursed old age pension, widow pension and disability allowance to beneficiaries of the social security schemes.
The state Finance Secretary, Tuhin Kanta Pandey here on Monday had informed that all necessary arrangements have been made by the district collectors as asked by state government after having consultations with senior officials of the RBI, SBI, currency chairs and social security officials.
It’s stated that under the said scheme, allowances would be disbursed to around 35 lakh beneficiaries and the government has allocated round about Rs 140 crore for the purpose. The Chief Minster, Naveen Patnaik has also asked his party leaders and activists to provide the necessary support and help to the people needed during money exchange.
