Bhitarakanika Witnesses 1.38 Lakh Migratory Birds This Time
In this winter, the number of migratory birds who made their way to Bhitarakanika National Park, has registered a 1.5% rise than the preceding year, officials sources said.
A total of 1,38,107 migratory birds belonging to 144 species were seen in the National Park during the annual census carried out on January 12. In the previous year, 1,36,092 birds of 121 species were found in this National Park.

Around 17 teams of 60 people took part in the census study. Ornithologists, wildlife officials and activists were also part of the bird census team.
