Bhubaneswar, Feb 02: Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation (BMC) has newly launched Digital Door Numbering System for allotting geotagged smart address for easy accessibility of the capital city. The system will provide alphanumeric numbers of the buildings.

This will facilitate the Postal Department, Utility Department and BMC in determining the accurate record of location of both Commercial and Residential buildings. By this system detailed address will be created of household/properties will include every information like street location, ward, nearby landmark and coding will be done under this survey. This will help further in door-to-door garbage collection.

The survey team are visiting for identifying the properties through geo-tagging  and entering the address of the respective house in the system for its uploading and creation of smart address.

The entire programme has been signed for worth Rs.3.76 Crore.

The initiative have been launched on a pilot basis in ward No. 6, 23 and 30 of the city. The pilot Survey will be carried between 1 -12 February and remaining areas will be covered between 13th February – 31st March.
