Bhupendra Patel will be the new Chief Minister of Gujarat. He was on Sunday elected as new Gujarat Chief Minister, replacing Vijay Rupani, who abruptly resigned on Saturday.
Bhupendra Patel, the MLA for the Ghatlodia Assembly constituency, has been picked by the BJP legislative party as the next chief minister of Gujarat.
Patel was earlier Chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani tenders his resignation
“I am a loyal soldier of the BJP. I will work to strengthen the organisation or whatever role the party leadership assigns me,” he told the reporters after tendering the resignation to Governor Acharya Devvrat.
Assembly elections in the state are due by late 2022.
