BJP MLA Joins TMC: Praises Mamata Banerjee & His Schemes

Kolkata, August 30: The BJP is facing another major setback after the West Bengal Assembly elections. Tanmay Ghosh, a Bishnupur MLA from Bankuda, left the BJP today to join the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Earlier, senior leader and MLA Mukul Roy left the BJP with his son Shubranshu Roy to join the Trinamool Congress in June. So far, two BJP legislators have joined the TMC since the assembly elections.

Today, West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu welcomed the BJP MLA. After joining the TMC, Ghosh targeted the BJP, saying that the BJP was pursuing revenge politics and was abusing the central agency to exercise power over the people of West Bengal. He said the people of West Bengal did not like it and that is why the Trinamool Congress won the election.

Ghosh praised Mamata Banerjee and said she was the most popular leader in the country and the most popular chief minister of West Bengal. He said he had left the BJP and joined the TMC after being inspired by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and several other schemes run by her.
