Bhubaneswar, Nov 19 : His Excellency Dr.S.C.Jamir, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and delivered the Convocation address and awarded the diplomas & medals to the PGDM students at Birla Institute of Management Technology, (BIMTECH)Bhubaneswar. Addressing the students, Hon’ble Governor said, that the imagination of what your Institute will be in the future, will play a vital role in directing its rise and growth. Build a brand of your institution with your success and achievements. He congratulated the students and wished all success in their future endeavors.
The Chairperson of Birla Institute of Management Technology, Smt. Jayashree Mohata said, Convocation day is a landmark event in the life of the passing – out students, parents, and faculty and stake holders of an institution. It is a day of hope, fulfillment and plans for the future. On such an occasion, we are very fortunate to have our Honorable Governor as the Chief Guest who will deliver the convocation address and bless our young students, passing out of the portals of the institute. She advised the students to look forward to augmenting their skill-sets and building newer capabilities and to always hold your self-respect high, be fearless and aim higher..
Mr. Vikash Kandoi, Member Board of Governors, described the students as budding managers and hoped that the alumni of this college will set examples of ethics and integrity in all spheres of life. He advised the students to hold onto their dreams. You may stumble or worse may fall, but rise again with bigger conviction and strength and be prepared to take on the challenges ahead. He added.
Dr.H.Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH, Greater Noida said the vision statement of BIMTECH, which talks about “developing ethical global leaders and entrepreneurs striving for sustainability and inclusive growth” very appropriately reflects the need of the hour for our country. Management education over the world has been criticized for fostering a profit maximizing short term and socially irresponsible behavior.
Mr. P.K.Mishra, IAS (Retd) and Member Board of Governors, BIMTECH, who graced the occasion, as guest of honour, wished the students a very bright future and advised to keep alive values and precepts that are fundamental to the making of a good human being. Dr. Parameshwar Nayak, Director, BIMTECH, Bhubaneswar presented the annual report and Dr.B.K.Das Advisor, BIMTECH gave the vote of thanks.
