Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has appointed district returning officers (DROs) for 32 organisational districts to conduct the elections for the party. The process for party polls which would be completed by February-end next year.
According to a press release issued by the party State Returning Officer Pratap Keshari Deb, Bauribandhu Mahapatra is appointed as the DRO of Angul, Gouri Kumar Barik for Balasore while Ashok Barik for Bargarh, Jitendra Nath Nayak for Bhadrak, Jitendra Kumar Nanda for Bhubaneswar, Sunil Kumar Mund for Balangir, Tapan Kumar Dalai for Boudh, Manoranjan Khatua for Cuttack, Rajat Kumar Pradhan for Deogarh, Om Prakash Saran for Dhenkanal, Laxmiprasad Mohapatra for Gajpati, Pramod Kumar Patra for Ganjam, Soumendra Ghosh for Jagatsinghpur, Syed Beg for Jharsuguda, Babaji Charan Das for Jajpur, Mayadhar Mund for Kalahandi, Dhiren Sahu for Kendrapara, Sanjay Mishra for Keonjhar, Rajanikant Pattnaik for Khurdha, Bimalendu Padhi for Kandhamal, Bala Ray for Koraput, Akshaya Mohanty for Mayurbhanj, Bikash Chandra Mandal for Malkangiri, Sachidananda Swain for Nabarangpur, Gangadhar Panda for Nayagarh, Prakash Mishra for Puri, Sudam Charan Das for Rourkela, Shakti Pattnaik for Sambalpur, Sarat Chandra Bhoi for Subarnapur, Rajendra Lenka for Sundargarh, Chittaranjan Behera for Nuapada and Brajasundar Bhoi for Rayagada.
Deb, a former Minister said a meeting of the DROs would be held on December 30 to discuss how to complete the elections in five phases. Deb said the time table for the five phases would be finalised soon.
In the first phase, primary committees at panchayat and Ward level in urban areas would be elected. Block, nagar and council committees would be finalised in the second phase while the district committees, including presidents would be elected in the third phase. In the fourth phase, State council would be elected.
