Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) allowed participation of maximum 250 people in marriage ceremonies, funerals and other ceremonial functions in the State’s capital city.
Earlier in an order, it had limited the maximum number of people attending marriage, funeral related functions and thread ceremonies to only 50. But, as per an fresh order, BMC relaxed the cap on the number of guests attending marriage ceremonies, funerals and other ceremonial functions in BMC area.
State Government has permitted other parts of Odisha to continue with the maximum number of 250 attendees in such gatherings in marriage ceremonies, funerals and other ceremonial functions. But, BMC had kept it 50 due to the Covid infections in State Capital.
On 29th October, Bhubaneswar reported 142 new cases and with that, total cases in Bhubaneswar rose to 1,18,076. Also, 256 cases recovered from the disease on the same day, pushing the total recoveries to 1,13,988. The active cases number was 3,015 on yesterday and so far, 1,052 succumbed to the disease.
Similarly, a total of 25,94,297 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered to the people in the Capital City. Out of this, 13,87,390 have received the first dose and 12,06,907 have received both the doses, the BMC had stated yesterday.
