Bhubaneswar, Sept 15: Umakanta Samantaray’s expulsion order from the BJD has been cancelled, sources of BJD informed.
Samantaray, the sitting MLA of Satyabadi Assembly constituency had been elected through an independent candidate as BJD had denied to provide ticket to him during the last assembly. As he contested against the party decision, he was removed from the party.
After this decision, Samantaray expressed his happiness and said that he only won being an independent candidate and has not left the part for a permanent basis.
Samantaray had lost election contest against Congress’ Prasad Harichandan while contesting from Satyabadi Assembly seat on BJD ticket.
