Bhubaneswar, March 30: The candidates appearing for the All India Joint Entrance Examination will no more be allowed to take pen and pencil into the exam halls.
In a bid to make the test process more transparent, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to provide the same equipment to the candidates in the entrance hall. The examination board has also planned to install mobile jammer in all the examination halls.
Moreover, entry into the hall with mobile phone, wrist watch and other electronic gadgets will not be allowed. Similarly, a three layer security arrangements will be made to ensure smooth examination.
The decision came after the answer key of AIPMT-2015 was leaked, official sources said. The matter had forced the CBSE authorities to conduct the test for the second time.
The Joint Entrance Examination (main off line) will be held on April 3 in two sittings. The students have been asked to report at the exam centre at 7 am even though the test is scheduled to begin at 9 am. The physically challenged candidates will be given one hour extra.
As many as 71 centres have been made in nine prominent cities of the State among which Bhubaneswar has 20 centres.
