Cease work stir threat by Odisha constabulary from September 23

Bhubaneswar, Sept 12: On Sunday, an announcement of cease work stir from September 23 was made by the Odisha Havildar Constable and Sipahi Mahasangh.

At a press meet held at Mahasangh’s office in Buxi Bazar on Sunday, Prasant Kumar Mahapatra, Mahasangh’s president informed that as a mark of token of protest on September 21 and 22, the members would wear black badges. If the six-point charter of demands including abolition of contractual appointments, differences in salary and allowances, appointment of Class IV employees does not get fulfilled by the government, then 60,000 policemen across the state will resort to cease work stir from September 23 and will continue the stir till their demands are fulfilled.

Kishore Kumar Mohanty, the general secretary of Mahasangh, Treasurer Sanjay Kumar Bal, Satyasish Tropathy the organization secretary, were present at the press meet among others.
