Chief Minister launches 19 industrial projects, investment of 2675 Crore, creation of 8953 jobs

Bhubaneswar: May 28: IChief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik today launched as many as 19 industrial projects in the State through video conferencing at Secretariat. Of these total 19 projects, ground breaking was organised for 12 projects and 7 projects were inaugurated. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that two of the projects for which ground breaking was organised on November 16, 2017 have been inaugurated today and will go to production in about 6 months time. This underscores the number one position of the State in the country in terms of Investment Implementation Rate, the Chief Minister emphasised.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister Said, “Odisha has a vision of becoming the most preferred investment destination in the country. Towards that end, we have devised the Odisha Industrial Development Plan Vision 2025 to set up more manufacturing industries in focus sectors with an investment of Rs.2.5 lakh crores, generating employment for 30 lakh people’.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik further said, ‘ Government has brought in significant business reforms to assist the industries to set up and operate in a conductive, investor-friendly environment. I am happy to note that Industries Department has leveraged the 3Ts framework of Transparency, Teamwork and Technology to develop the GO SWIFT portal, which is first-of-its-kind in the country, providing facilitation to industries across the investment life-cycle. The GO SWIFT portal has been a huge success and it recently received the 200th application in a record time of less than 6 months. I am confident that this portal will redefine G2B interface and set a new benchmark in the country’.

Odisha CM said, ‘The make in Odisha Conclave in 2016 was an important milestone in our journey of industrial development and helped generate investment intents in diverse sectors, other than the traditional areas of mines metals and energy. To ensure that the investment intents received during the Conclave are converted quickly, my Government has worked with dedication to provide all requisite support to the investors expeditiously’.

‘Today we have witnessed the ground breaking of 12 new projects and inauguration of 7 projects, which is an affirmation of our commitment to the industrial growth. I am also delighted to Inform you that 2 of the Projects for which ground-breaking took Place on November 26, 2017, have been inaugurated today and will go into production in about 6 months. This underscores our position as the Number one State in the country in terms of investment implementation rate’.

Make in Odisha Conclave 2018 will be organised during 11thto 15°of November this year. I would like all the State Departments to come together and make this year’s Conclave a grand success.”
