Cuttack: Are you planning for a picnic near Odisha’s Cuttack City? If yes, this is an important news for you as the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) today took a major decision and imposed a ban on picnic. This apart, the CMC also warned stringent actions against the violators apart from imposing fines.
While speaking to the media persons about the decision of CMC, Commissioner Anam Charan Patra informed that the city civic body has decided to ban people from having picnic at different locations of the silver city in order to keep it neat and clean.
Picnic at the Lower Bali Yatra Ground and stretch from Silver City Boat Club to Cuttack-in-Cuttack pavilion has been banned, the CMC Commissioner added.
While speaking about the reason behind the CMC imposing the ban on picnic, Patra said that the civic body took the decision after finding it extremely difficult to clean the piles of garbage thrown by the picnickers. The garbage negatively impact and pollute the water of the Mahanadi River and environment of the locality, he added.
The CMC Commissioner also advised the people to keep the picnic spots neat and clean so that it will protect and balance the environment.
