The trailer of the upcoming movie of actor Kennedy John Victor aka Chiyaan Vikram, ‘Cobra’ has created a sense of delirium among the fans. As per the revelation through the trailer, the actor is being projected as an ordinary maths teacher with a bit of twist in the plot which has further boosted the excitement amongst the movie enthusiasts. The official trailer of the movie which is released after more than a year-long gap between the first look of the movie (teaser), has further revealed more about the storyline.
The protagonist is projected with another title “Cobra” where he is seen as a spy-like character, who is an expert in changing his appearance as per the convenience or demand of the situation just like Cobras shed their skin on regular basis. The initial impressions of the movie give a hint of the action-thriller genre, the movie also includes stars like Srinidhi Shetty, cricketer Irfan Pathan, KS Ravikumar, Robo Shankar, and Roshan Mathew. This would be Irfan’s debut movie, which has also made popular amongst cricket fans. But what exactly makes real-life cobras shed their skin? And what are its impacts on the glorious reptile?
Just the like the protagonist in this movie who is seen in various avatars, snakes also shed their outer layer of the skin. Humans also shed millions of skin cells on daily basis, meanwhile, cobras shed their skin occasionally for two primary reasons. They shed skin due to their physical growth, just like we humans get out of our older cloth due to the increase in size. And, secondly, they remove their skin for getting rid of parasites and germs feeding on their bodies. The process of changing or shedding the upper layer of the skin happens in-between four to twelve times a year, and it is called Ecdysis. Snakes remain completely opaque or temporarily in a blind state during this process which takes around 4 to 7 days, as the reptiles are not blessed with eyelids their eyes are protected by a shield of transparent skin called Spectacle which is also removed in the process.
Vikram starrer ‘Cobra’ also resembles a bit with his psychological action thriller movie ‘Anniyan’ released in the year 2005 which was a great box office hit, bagging eight Filmfare Awards, six State Film Awards, and one National Award for the Special Effects category. In ‘Anniyan’, the actor played the role of an idealistic, honest lawyer who used to have hallucinations and subsequently turned into a completely different personality, the hint of which is also seen in the trailer of this upcoming movie as well. The plot twist has also triggered sentiments of the cult followers of the old movie, meanwhile parallelly another high-budget movie named “Ponniyin Selvan: 1” starring the actor is also going to release this year. Which is based on the novel of famous Tamil writer Kalki Krishnamurthy by the same name. A dual dose of entertainment has bounced back the actor to fame, this year South Indian movies have dominated the screens with an extraordinary performance at the box office.
