Berhampur: June 25: Today four persons including a college student named as Ashok Kumar Swain (26), Anil Kumar (23), Banabashi Behra (24) and Ashok Kumar Behera (19) were captivated for allegedly poaching an endangered blackbuck near Sandhamula village in Ganjam district.

Initial Enquiries stated that the accusatory were not professionals in this crime and thus reason behind poaching is yet to come out as per the DFO. The poachers were confined by the local villagers on hearing the gun-shot killing of the animal. On being informed, the forest officials’ over there rushed immediately to the area, D.K. Martha said.

A country-made gun and two motorbikes were seized from their possession, while the carcass of the blackbuck was recovered from the spot in Berhampur forest division’s Khallikote range, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Berhampur.
